Recent developments have been implemented at gearboxes with hypoid bevel gears for tram motor bogies. Featuring a new bearing system and a performant hypoid bevel gear, machined by a modern fabrication technology, the durability of these gearboxes has significantly increased.

The main components of the gearboxes for tram motor bogies are machined on performant NC machines using preset tools. Case-hardening and quenching are done in the heat treatment line IVA-Germany, computer controlled.

Each product is tested on a specially arranged fixture, at nominal load and over-load. NEPTUN is making the gearboxes for both mono-motor and bi-motor bogies.
